The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet is the only Windows tablet ever released by Nokia; a supposed successor of the tablet that was cancelled has surfaced online. The Lumia 2520 tablet successor even has the nokia branding on it and as of today the specs are already outdated.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet successor is known with the codename – RX-115/RX-116 and design-wise it doesn’t stray much from the ‘Fabula’ body build of the Lumia brand of devices. The tablet runs Windows RT 8.1, a version based on either Windows 8 or 8.1 that is basically design for tablets but has been discontinued now.
A Pureview camera with Zeiss Optics similar to that of the Microsoft Lumia 830 can be found on the rear of the device. The device was expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with 2GB of RAM, asides that most of the changes from its predecessor were very minimal.
While the product has been cancelled, you can’t find too many tablets with a very good camera around. Who knows Microsoft could end up releasing a successor to the tablet maybe with Windows 10 OS on-board and the chipset would be upgraded.
Asides that, the idea of a collaboration between Nokia and Microsoft doesn’t look likely for now, but both companies had a past with finish company releasing several Windows product till the former got acquired by the latter.
