Meitu’s upcoming smartphone has been certified in China by TENAA. Spotted as the Meitu MP1611 on the Chinese Telecommunications agency’s website; the smartphone has similar specs with the Meitu T8 and is expected to fit into the M series or could end up as the Meitu M8.
The Meitu MP1611 will take the same hexagonal shape as its predecessors and comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s MEIOS UI on top. It sports a 5.15-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, measures 155.85 x 70.5 x 9.6 mm in dimensions, weigh 161 grams and relies solely on a 3,100mAh battery. On the inside, the device is powered by a Deca-Core Mediatek Helio X27 (MT6797X) processor clocked at 2.3GHz paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 21MP camera with Dual Tone Flash and the front camera is a 12MP snapper which could also use the Dual Pixel technology on the T8. The MP1611 also supports 4G LTE networks as well as Voice over LTE (VoLTE).
The Meitu MP1603 was also spotted on the platform with almost the same specs as the MP1611, it has a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display and the rest are more or less the same.
