Following the launch of the Meitu M6S late last year, Chinese brand, Meitu has officially released the first T series device – the Meitu T8. As it is with other models, the device has a big camera lens, keeps the unusual hexagonal shape (double V) and vows to take photography to another level.
Sporting a 5.2-inch IPS display with (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD screen resolution, the Meitu T8 is powered by a Deca-core Mediatek X20 (MTK6797) processor clocked at 2.35GHz and comes pre-installed with the dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s MEIOS UI on top.
The highlight of the T8 is the front facing 12MP Dual-Pixel camera with world’s self-timer black technology, Optical Image Stablisation (OIS) and Artificial Intelligence (Al) tech for face recognition, age and gender identification. The main camera is a 21MP snapper with Dual-tone LED flash.
The device is expected to pack up to 6GB of RAM, 128GB built-in storage space and a 3900mAh battery. The Meitu T8 will go sale on January 12th for a pre-sale price of CNY 5,000 (USD 722) through itsss website. The final selling price is unknown however, it will be launched on February 21st, 2017.
