Meitu has officially announced its selfie focused smartphone – the Meitu V4. The phablet device which was certified on TENAA in September, arguably has the highest number of pixels camera on a front camera yet (21MP).
Not to be mixed up as Meizu, Meitu’s current offering – the V4 has a front and rear facing 21MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, 78.2-degrees wide viewing angle and sapphire protection on the optics. These numbers will appeal to those who select their phones based on camera performance.
The Meitu V4 sports a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display and a pixel density of 4400ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 MT6795 64-bit processor clocked at 2.0GHz paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage.
The device looks unusual as it is crafted with the double V design on the top and bottom but it is very far from being ugly. It rocks a Dual SIM slot, measures 152.4 x 68.8 x 8.95mm in dimensions and supports GSM, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, TD-LTE, FDD-LTE networks.
Running MeiOS2.5 (based on Android 5.1 Lollipop), the Meitu V4 supports GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac and 4G LTE connectivity. The whole shebang is backed by a 2650mAh battery. It is available in Light Turquoise, Pink and White with Pink accents colours for CNY 3499 ($548).
