Meizu has officially announced the Meizu Blue Charm Metal smartphone; the phablet sized smartphone ditch the plastic body build associated with the Blue Charm series for a metal one and has a fingerprint scanner. It comes in Blue, Gold, Grey, Pink and White colour options.
The Meizu Blue Charm Metal sports a 5.5-inch LTPS LCD 2.5D display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) and NEG’s Dinorex T2X-1 glass protection. It is powered by an octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2.0GHz paired with PowerVR G6200 (Rogue) GPU and 2GB of RAM.
There is a choice of either 16GB or 32GB native storage space and for storage expansion the second SIM slot acts as the microSD card slot (up to 128GB). The device has a 13MP main camera with dual-tone dual-LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and PDAF, a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and the fingerprint scanner is embedded into the home button.
Connectivity options on the Meizu Blue Charm Metal (or Meizu Metal) includes – GPS, micro-USB, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and 4G LTE connectivity.
It measures 150.7 x 75.3 x 8.2mm in dimensions, weighs 162 grams, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Flyme 5.1 UI ontop (the Chinese version runs YunOS with Flyme 5.1 UI ontop) and is backed by a 3140mAh battery.
The Meizu Blue Charm Metal costs CNY 1099 ($173) for the 16GB model and the 32GB model costs CNY 1299 ($205). While registrations are already on for the device, actual sales starts on November 2nd.
