Finally, after so many leaked info’s and images detailing the Meizu M1, the device went official today. The device was announced in an event titled ‘Connected’ by Meizu in Beijing; not only the smartphone was announced the company also announced some home connected devices in collaboration with AliBaBa and Haier.
The Meizu M1 (Meizu Blue Charm or Meilan) is the junior brother to the Meizu M1 Note which went official December last year. It features a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels with a pixel density of 300ppi and Gorilla Glass 3 protection on-top.
Under the hood, is a quad-core MediaTek MT6732 SoC which clocks at 1.5GHz with Mali T7620 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB space.
The Meizu M1 uses a 13MP camera made by Samsung with 4x Digital zoom and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The main camera also has f/2.2 aperture and a LED flash to complete it. There is also a front facing 5MP camera on-board with f/2.0 aperture, 69-degree angle view and OmniVision OV5670.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Dual Band Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and supports only Chinese networks bands – GSM, TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE networks. The Meizu M1 runs on Android 4.4 Kikat OS with Flyme OS ontop. It measures 140.2 x 72.1 x 8.9mm, weighs 128 grams and is backed by a 2610mAh battery.
Talking about the physical features, it comes with a plastic colour body which only reminds one of the iPhone 5C. Blue, Green, Pink, Yellow and White are the available colour options and it retails for around $110 (699 Yuan) in China starting February 5th.
