Meizu M1 Mini could run three different OS versions but no Lollipop

Meizu is expected to add another device to the Blue Charm family at an event on January 28th. The Meizu M1 Note (Blue Charm Note) has already gone official and it’s younger brother the Meizu M1 Mini (Blue Charm) is also expected to join up.

One talking point about the device is it would run on three different OS versions. It’s 2015, you would have thought of Android 5.0 Lollipop. But no, one of the models would run on Flyme OS (based on Android) which is owned by Meizu, another model would run on Yun OS/Aliyun OS (owned by Alibaba) and the last on Ubuntu (yeah that’s right Ubuntu).

Talking about Ubuntu, the M1 Mini could be the first affordable device to run the OS. But judging from past experience we will have to wait until launch date to truly see this happen.

Much of the specs of the device is unknown yet but the device would sport a 5-inch screen instead of the earlier rumours of 4.7-inch display but with a 720p revolution. Others includes a 13MP main camera with LED flash and comes in Six (6) colour options. It could also come with 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage and a 64-bit octa-core MediaTek processor.

The Meizu M1 Mini is expected to cost around 799 Yuan (roughly $128). The announcement is just about 6 days away, when other smartphones makers emphasise on affordability for its mid-range offering – lest not forget the M1 Mini is Ultra affordable but if it’s OS versions turns out to be real then that would definitely be its talking point.
