Meizu has finally announced the successor to the M1 Note (Blue Charm Note) – the Meizu M2 Note (Blue Charm Note 2). The phablet has been surfaced in a large number of leaks before it finally went official.
While pre-orders have started, it would be available starting June 12 in China for a price equivalent to $130 (CNY 799) for the 16GB model and $160 (CNY 999) for the 32GB version. There is no word on when it would be available outside the home country, however, those interested in getting the device in other regions can try third-party resellers.
The Meizu M2 Note is powered by a MediaTek MT6753 chipset with 8 Cortex A53 cores running at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and an option to choose either 16GB or 32GB space of internal storage. The device has Dual SIM slot and the second slot also doubles as a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.
Handling photography on the device is a 13MP Samsung made rear camera with 5-element f/2.2 lens protected by corning gorilla glass 3 and a front facing 5MP camera with f/2.0 lens. Connectivity options on the device includes – World mode 4G LTE support, micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and GPS with AGPS.
The body design of the M2 Note is still the same as it’s predecessor with its glossy polycarbonate body with magnesium alloy frame; the capacitive home button is now a physical button; the side now houses the power button. It would be available in four different colour options including a new metallic grey colour which has been used on the Meizu MX series.
The Meizu M2 Note sticks with its 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Sharp IGZO IPS LCD display (403ppi, 1000:1 high contrast), measures 150.9 x 75.2 X 8.7 mm in dimensions, weighs 149 grams and is backed by a 3100mAh battery (40mAH less than its predecessor). It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with Flyme 4.5 UI ontop.
