After surfacing in different leaks, the Meizu MX4 Pro has gone official. The company announced what it calls the Pro version of the Meizu MX4 at a dedicated event in China.
The MX4 Pro has an embedded fingerprint sensor in the home button with the sensor covered by Sapphire glass and also uses a stainless steel metal ring. The technology behind the sensor is the mTouch; the response time is announced to be around 0.5s and an identification angle of 360 degrees.
Moving to the specs features, the Meizu MX4 Pro features a 5.5-inch JDI (Sharp) 2560 x 1536 pixel resolution display with a very narrow bezel which measures 2.8mm wide, has a pixel density of 542ppi and a corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by a Samsung Exynos 5430 chipset with a quad-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A15 and a quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A7 CPU with Mali-T628 MP6 GPU, 3GB of RAM and has three different internal storage variants – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB options which is non-expandable (no microSD card slot).
On the rear is a Sony 20.7MP f/2.2 with IMX220 Exmor RS sensor width dual LED flash and a front facing 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera which uses an OmniVision OV5693 sensor. Connectivity options on the Meizu MX4 Pro includes – NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0 but no IR blaster and supports TD-LTE/FDD-LTE network bands.
The device also uses the following listed sensors – Ambient Sensor, Hall Effect sensor, gravity sensor, infrared proximity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, touch sensitive, digital compass.
The Meizu MX4 Pro measures 150.1 x 77.0 x 9.0mm, weighs 158 grams, runs on Flyme 4.0 (based on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS) and packs a 3350mAh battery. It is available in Silver, Gray and Gold colour option for a CNY 2499 ($410) price tag in China on December 6. Global availability of the MX4 Pro has not been revealed.
