Ahead of the official unveiling of the M2 Note, Meizu has listed a new device – the Meizu MX5e on its official online store. The MX5e is a slightly toned-down version of the flagship Meizu MX5 and as expected the price also sees a meagre cut. It is available in China for a price tag of CNY 1399 (US$ 215).
The Meizu MX5e has most of the specs of the MX5 but differs in the aspect of camera (main) and the processor. The main camera is 16-megapixel camera (compared to 20.7-megapixel) and the version of the MediaTek Helio X10 SoC used is clocked lower at 2.0GHz (compared to 2.2GHz).
The 7.6 mm thick MX5e features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with 1000:1 contrast ratio, 3GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage space, front facing 5-megapixel camera, Dual SIM slots and is backed by a 3150mAh battery with support for 9V/2A fast charging.
Running FlymeOS 4.5 which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Meizu MX5e supports 4G LTE connectivity in both SIMs and sports a fingerprint sensor on the rear with the company’s mTouch Fingerprint identification software.
