Meizu has confirmed there would be no Meizu MX5 Pro and the MX Pro line will soon become history. The company however, has a new flagship line expected to drop later this year – the device has initially surfaced as the Meizu MX5 Pro Plus, then as the Meizu ME5 and now a new report confirms the Meizu NUIX moniker.
There were reports that Meizu’s exclusive partnership with Mediatek would hinder it’s association with Samsung but that seems not to be the case. The upcoming Meizu NUIX will be powered by the Samsung Exynos 7420 processor which powers premium devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note5.
The association with Samsung also stretches to AMOLED display which the NUIX would use. It sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD screen and as mentioned above it would be powered by a 64-bit Octa-core Exynos 7420 processor.
The device would be available in two RAM versions – 3GB and 4GB. The Meizu NUIX has a rear facing 21MP camera, front facing 5MP camera and would run Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with the company’s Flyme 5.0 UI on top.
Design-wise it might not stray much from the Samsung Galaxy S6 but it would be a new one for the company still. It could have a virtual on-screen keys with the home button jettisoned and there would be a 2.5D glass panel on the front with a bezel-free (borderless) display.
At this stage, it is still all rumours until there is something concrete. What do you think?
