Canonical and Meizu have jointly announced the global launch of the Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition ahead of the MWC 2016 in Barcelona. The device will go pre-order at the MWC via Meizu’s website while the price and other details will be communicated on the Ubuntu Blog.
The Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition has exactly the same specs as the Original Meizu Pro 5 only the OS has changed to Ubuntu from Android. It is the fifth (5th) device from Canonical & its device partners (Meizu and BQ) in the past 12 months and is now the top Ubuntu phone in the market.
Going over some of the details, it sports a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display & Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor with Mali-T720 MP8 GPU, 3GB RAM and 21.16-megapixel Sony IMX230 Exmor RS main camera. It is backed by a 3050mAh battery and runs Ubuntu Scope with the latest Scopes.
