Meizu has officially announced two new smartphones – the high-end Meizu Pro 6 Plus and mid-range Meizu M3X in China. The duo has Dual SIM slots, Fingerprint sensors (mTouch 2.1), boot Flyme OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and support Voice Over LTE (VoLTE).
Meizu Pro 6 Plus
Available in Champagne Gold, Sky Grey and Moonlight Silver colours, the Meizu Pro 6 Plus sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, very narrow bezels (0.53 mm) and 600-nits brightness. It also has the Always-on display feature and 3D Press means the display inteprettes different level of pressure on the screen.
The device relies on an octa-core Samsung Exynos 8890 SoC paired along with 4GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.0 built-in storage space. Photography is handled by a rear 12MP f/2.0 camera with dual-tone 10-LED Ring Flash, 4-axis OIS, PDAF and 6P lenses, alongside a front facing 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video chats.
Other key specs includes – heart rate sensor, infrared sensor, ESS ES9018K2M audio chip + ADI AD45275 amplifier, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB 3.1 Type-C port & NFC. A 3400mAh battery with mCharge 3.0 24W fast charging (up to 60% in 30 mins) keeps the light on for several hours.
The Meizu Pro 6 Plus is available for order in China and goes on sale starting December 23rd. Pricing starts at CNY 2999 (USD 435) for the 64GB version with CPU clocked at 2GHz while the 128GB version with CPU clocked at 2.3GHz costs CNY 3999 (USD 479).
Meizu M3X
Sporting a 5.5-inch FHD TDDI LCD 2.5D Curved glass display and shiny glass back with ceramic crystal coating; the Meizu M3X is also equipped USB Type-C port, front 5MP camera and backed by a 3200mAh battery with mCharge support (goes up to 40% in 30 min using a 18W fast charger).
On the inside, the device relies on an octa-core MediaTek Helio P20 64-bit processor with 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB RAM storage options. The main camera is a 12MP f/2.0 camera with dual tone LED Flash, Sony IMX386 sensor, PDAF and 4K video recording. Connectivity option is similar to the Pro 6 Plus.
In terms of pricing, the Meizu M3X is priced at CNY 1699 (USD 247) for the 3GB RAM version while the 4GB RAM version costs CNY 1999 (USD 290). Gold, Pearl White, Phantom Blue and Obsidian Black are the available colour options while sales commences on December 8th.
