There is no doubting the fact that Meizu is the one of the very few Chinese device makers who like to experiment with products. The company has a couple of smartphones powered by Samsung’s Exynos CPU; device running Ubuntu OS as well as Alibaba’s YunOS (see the Meizu M3E).
Without much fanfare, Meizu has announced two YunOS devices in China – the Meizu U10 and Meizu U20. Both LTE-enabled models in the new U series join the Blue Charm family and sport the now accustomed mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor in the home button as well as metal frame plus glass body.
The Meizu U10 sports a 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) 2.5D curved glass display and is backed by a 2760mAh battery. It relies on an Octa-core processor (Mediatek MT6750) paired with 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB RAM and storage options respectively. The Hybrid Dual SIM slots houses either the Dual SIM or One SIM and a microSD card.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5MP f/2.0 camera and a rear facing 13MP f/2.2 camera with dual-tone LED flash. Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
The Meizu U20 on the other hand has a larger 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) screen resolution, powered by an octa-core processor (Mediatek Helio P10) and is backed by a bigger 3260mAh battery. The rest of the specs are all similar to the U10.
