Gigaset has announced the Gigaset ME and two other variants – the Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro. All three smartphones have a body build with an alloy of stainless steel and aluminium metal.
The Gigaset ME is the start of the show, the device sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and a pixel density of 443ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor underclocked at 1.8Ghz and Adreno 430 GPU.
Handling tasks on the device is 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage; the device supports Dual ‘NanoSIM’ slots, the second Slot also serves as the microSD card slot. On the back there is a 16MP camera with Laser Autofocus, Dual LED flash, 6K lens and f/2.0 aperture; the front camera is a 8MP snapper with 120-degrees viewing angle.
Connectivity options on the Gigaset ME includes – Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, Beidou, 4G LTE, AGPS/GPS and USB 3.0 Type-C. It measures 144.5 x 69.4 x 7.7mm in dimensions, weighs 160 grams and has a fingerprint scanner, UV Sensor, Heart rate scanner, Proximity, Pedometer and other sensor options.
The Gigaset ME is backed by a 3000mAh battery with Quick charge 2.0, which should work for several hours and runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with Gigaset UI ontop. The device is already available in countries like Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Netherlands and UK for €469 ($527).
The company also announced the Gigaset ME Pure and Gigaset ME Pro; both devices are based on the original ME smartphone.
The Budget based Gigaset ME Pure is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage space, 13MP rear camera and backed by a bigger 3220mAh battery. It is priced at €349 ($395).
The more premium Gigaset ME Pro is expected to have a bigger 5.5-inch display, 20MP rear camera, 5GB of RAM and 4000mAh battery. It is priced at €549 ($621).
