Micromax has announced a Special Lite Edition model of the Micromax Canvas, almost nine months after the Micromax Canvas 5 launched. The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite Special Edition is designed with special walnut wood, giving the device a sleek looking rear finish.
Still running Android Lollipop OS, the Micromax Canvas 5 Lite Special Edition sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS LCD display, powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6735P 64-bit processor clocked at 1.0GHz with ARM Mali-T720 GPU, paired with either 2GB/3GB of RAM and/or 16GB/32GB storage space.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8 megapixels camera with LED flash and a front facing 5 megapixels camera for Selfies and video calling. The device supports 4G LTE (LTE Cat. 4) networks, packs Dual SIM slots, a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB and is backed by a fairly moderate 2,000mAh battery.
The Micromax Canvas 5 Lite Special Edition is expected to last up to 150 hours on Standby and roughly 5 hours of talk time. At the time of posting, pricing details is unknown, however, some reports suggest it will be available exclusively via Flipkart in India
