The shortage of Android Marshmallow OS devices continues in India as Micromax has listed a new budget 4G device running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS on its official website. The 5-inch sized device which has a sign-up page for customer, is expected to go on sale in coming weeks.
Housed in a polycarbonate body build, the Micromax Canvas Amaze 4G Q491 brings both improvements and decline compared to the Canvas Amaze Q439. The 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS remains the same.
Under the hood, Micromax has opted for a 64-bit Qualcomm processor (Snapdragon 410) clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB of RAM (down from 2GB) and 8GB built-in expandable storage space which is expandable up to 32GB space via a MicroSD card slot.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, 4G LTE Cat.4/3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0 and GPS/ A-GPS. In the camera segment there is a front facing 2-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 8-megapixel AutoFocus camera with LED flash.
The Micromax Canvas Amaze 4G has Dual SIM slots and is backed by a 2230mAh battery which is expected up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 160 hours of standby time. There is no word on availability and pricing, but Black colour option only has been confirmed.
