Micromax has announce a new tablet/phablet device in the Canvas series – the Micromax Canvas Fantabulet. The company is advertising the Canvas Fantabulet as a smartphone because it supports 3G connectivity and has voice calling capability but a 6.95-inch display already qualifies as tablet.
It is available exclusively from Flipkart for a price tag of Rs 7499 (USD 112) in Chrome Gold colour only, there is an offer price if purchased through the Flipkart app.
Running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the Micromax Canvas Fantabulet F666 sports a 6.95-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and is backed by a 3000mAh battery which should provide up to 250 hours of standby time, up to 3 hours of HD video playback and up to 5 hours of internet browsing time.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8382W processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 32GB. In the camera segment, there is a front facing 2MP camera and a rear facing 8MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash.
The Micromax Canvas Fantabulet F666 has Dual SIM slots which supports 3G networks for voice calling as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB and GPS options. It also has Dual Box speakers with DTS Sound for immersive audio experience and also pre-loaded with apps such as Eros Now, Kindle, Saavn (with free 90 days subscription to Saavn pro worth Rs. 297), Gaana and more.
