Micromax has not officially announced the Micromax Canvas Hue 2 in India but this has not stopped the company from selling the device on eBay.in. The device is currently selling online for INR 11,736 ($183) and Black is the only colour option.
The Micromax Canvas Hue 2 A316 is the successor to the Micromax Canvas Hue which was launched in January. It is also available in brick and mortar stores around India; the MRP of the smartphone is INR 17,999 ($281) and the MOP is priced at INR 12,499 ($195).
Moving to the specs, the Micromax Canvas Hue 2 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display, powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot on-board for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
On the rear there is a 13MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the Canvas Hue 2 includes – 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS. Sensor options on the device includes – Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Magnetometer, and Proximity sensor.
The Micromax Canvas Hue 2 measures 7mm thick, has an aluminium chassis build and boots Android 4.4 Kitkat OS out-of-the-box. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery which can provide around 205 hours of standby time and around 7 hours of talktime.
Compared to the Micromax Canvas Hue, the Canvas Hue 2 comes with improvements in the aspects of processor (quad-core to octa-core), more RAM (from 1GB to 2GB), increased front and rear cameras (from 8MP/2MP to 13MP/5MP) and more Internal storage capacity (8GB to 16GB). However, the company decided to go from 3000mAh battery capacity to 2000mAh.
