Micromax has officially announced the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 – successor to the original Canvas Mega from last year. Packed in a plastic body, the phablet-sized device slots into the entry-level category with its specs and is priced at Rs. 7999 (US$120). Black is the only available colour option.
Running the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 sports a 6-inch IPS LCD display with 960 x 540 pixels (qHD) resolution and is backed by a sizeable 3000mAh battery. On the inside it relies on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8-megapixel AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 5-megapixels for selfies and video chats. The device has Dual SIM slots, supports 2G, 3G & 4G LTE networks as well as Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity options.
