Micromax has announced the launch of the Canvas Mega 2 successor – the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus in India. The phablet sized low-end device retains the 6-inch IPS display with 960 x 540 pixels (qHD) screen resolution and is on sale Rs. 7,499 (US$ 114). It is available from offline stores across the country and will soon be available from various online retailers soon.
Backed by a sizeable 3000mAh battery, the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus Q426+ comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, Dual SIM slots, 4G networks support and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) feature. It is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage. For additional space, there is a microSD card slot for expanding the storage space.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8MP AF camera with LED flash alongside a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options on the device include – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and micro USB 2.0.
For almost the same price tag, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and Samsung ON5 Pro are some of the device options to consider as they have better features and specifications.
