The race to be the number one manufacturer is getting more intense in India as Intex and Micromax have both been aggressively launching smartphones. An example is the Micromax Canvas Mega E353 which already has its details listed. The device will be available exclusively on Flipkart for Rs 8320 (approx. $127) in Slate Grey Colour option.
Moving to the specs, the Micromax Canvas Mega is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and for additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB.
Connectivity options onboard includes Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, microUSB 2.0 port, 3G HSPA+ and for no obvious reason, Micromax decided to skip support for 4G LTE networks. It has Dual SIM slots and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS from the onset.
In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5-Megapixels camera for selfies and a rear facing 13-Megapixels camera with LED flash. The Micromax Canvas Mega comes pre-loaded with some necessary apps and is backed by a 2820mAh battery that should last up to a day of usage.
