Micromax has officially announced the Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 with 4G LTE connectivity, Android Lollipop OS and at 5.1mm thin – it is slimmest smartphone around. Sales of the device would start in July for a price tag of INR 17,999 ($280) in Gold and Black colour variants.
Much of the concentration of the spotlight on the device is on the body build and slim body. The smartphone measures 5.1mm thin, weighs 97 grams and is said to be the first 4G LTE smartphone below 100 grams.
Moving to the specs, the Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 Q450 features a 4.8-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The slim device is packed with an aircraft grade aluminium alloy to be more strong and durable.
Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB space of internal storage for apps, media and files and there is no microSD card slot.
On the rear is a 8MP rear camera with Sony IMX219 Sensor, 4P Largan Lens, 75.6-degree Wide angle lens and Blue Glass Filter. On the front, there is a 5MP fixed focus camera for Selfies and video chats. Connectivity options on the device includes – support for 2G, 3G, 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4 FDD and TD bands); Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0.
It comes with a single SIM slot, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2000mAh Li-Polymer battery which provides 8 hours of talktime and 345 hours of standby time.
The Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 is pre-loaded with app such as housing, Swiftkey, Clean master, Snapdeal, HotStar, App Center, Newshunt, Scandid, Quikr and Chaatz. For better Sound and Audio quality output, there is NXP Smart Power Amplifier and Dirac HD sound.
