The Micromax Canvas Tab P690 is the latest tablet from the Indian based company, Micromax. The 8-inch slate supports voice calls, 3G connectivity, is priced at INR 8999 and comes with a free flip cover which costs INR 1500. Sales of the tablet would be available across all retail outlets and online stores starting Sunday.
The metal chassis-ed Micromax Canvas Tab P690 features a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) HD display, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom processor clocked at 1.3GHz but can turbo up to 1.83GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
The main camera is a 5MP snapper and the front a 2MP snapper. Connectivity options on the tablet includes – Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G connectivity; app such as NewsHunt, SwiftKey, WPS Office, Hello TV, Saavn, Kindle and others have been pre-loaded on the tablet.
A 4000mAh battery is onboard which can provide around 180 hours of standby time; it measures 209.8 × 120.5 × 7.8mm in dimensions, Weighs 318 grams and on the operating system side we have Android 4.4 Kitkat OS running out-of-the-box with promised upgrade to Android Lollipop OS.
