Microsoft and Spanish Football Club, Real Madrid has announced a Spain exclusive 8.9-inch Windows tablet known as the Windows Tablet Edición Real Madrid. You should know that the Redmond giant is the Official Technology partner of the Madrid based football club.
The Windows Tablet Edición Real Madrid is available in two models – a normal edition and a premium edition. It is available on sale only in Spain at the moment and it costs €199 ($224). The first 100 buyers would be invited to the prestigious Santiago Bernabeau Stadium which is the club’s home stadium and for €50 you can etch your name on the back of the tablet.
Moving to the specs, the Windows Tablet Edición Real Madrid or Windows Tablet Edition Real Madrid (in English) sports a 8.9-inch IPS Multi OGS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels Full HD resolution and is powered by an Intel Atom Processor Quad Core Z3735F processor with 2GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage.
On the rear there is a 5MP camera and the front camera is a 2MP snapper. Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n; measures 233.2 × 148.2 × 8 mm in dimensions and weighs 369 grams.
A 6700mAh battery is on-board to keep the light on and it runs on Windows 8.1 OS, like other Windows devices it would also be upgradable to Windows 10 when it is available. As expected Microsoft has also thrown in some of its freebies – 60 minutes per month of free skype call, 1TB of Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage and a full year subscription to the latest Microsoft Office applications.
