Microsoft has released a new feature phone under the Nokia brand – the Nokia 222. There is a also Dual SIM variant which predictably is called the Nokia 222 Dual SIM.
Both variants would be available in Glossy Black and White colour options. In terms of availability, they would be available globally in select markets starting September at a price tag of $37 (before taxes and subsidies).
The Nokia 222 (and Nokia 222 Dual SIM) features a 2.4-inch (120 x 160 pixels) QVGA display, runs Nokia Series 30+ OS, has a 2MP camera on the back, measures 116 x 50 x 12.9mm in dimensions and weighs 79 grams.
For additional storage there is a microSD card slot which expands storage up to 32GB. The device comes with a LED flashlight, built-in FM Radio, built-in MP3 Player and photos can be shared using built-in SLAM technology which needs SLAM-enabled devices to send and receive files.
Apps such as Facebook, Twitter, GroupMe by Skype, Messenger and Opera Mini browser come pre-loaded on the device and gamers would be able to download one free Gameloft game (every month for a year); all accessible over a 2.5G network.
Feature phones from Nokia are not only durable, the battery also lasts long. Continuing the tradition, the Nokia 222 and Nokia 222 Dual SIM lasts around 20 hours of talk time and more than 20 days of standby time thanks to a 1100mAh battery ticking under the hood.
