The Microsoft Lumia 640 would among the first set of smartphones to get the Windows 10 OS. The confirmation came today in form of a video which surfaced online today via a scandanavian blog, mobilsiden.dk.
General Manager, Microsoft Devices Scandinavian Ossi Korpela confirmed this in a video which surfaced today. He singled out the Microsoft Lumia 640 as one of the first set of smartphones to run the Windows 10 for mobile OS which won’t be available until later this year.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Clearback display with a pixel density of 294ppi. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage.
There is a microSD card slot onboard which expands storage up to 128GB more space. Other key specs includes – 8MP main camera, 0.9MP front camera, 4G LTE/3G and 2500mAh battery. It currently runs Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Denim update.

The move could be seen as a calculated one from Microsoft which would see more people opt for the Lumia 640 which they are assured would get the OS. And the very patient Windows Phone lovers would wait till around 6 months time or more.
