Microsoft has announced its Microsoft office apps for Android would be available generally for all Android Phones. This Android version joins the already released Microsoft office apps for Android tablets and the Microsoft OneNote .
The apps – Word, Excel and Powerpoint which were all in Beta status would now be accessible in over 83 countries. Those willing to use the Microsoft Office apps for Android (and tablets) can enjoy it free if you only do activities like viewing, editing and lightweight creations. However, to enjoy the full experience you need to pay for the Office 365 subscription.
The three new office apps can be downloaded on Google Play store and needs at least 1GB of RAM plus the smartphone must not be running any OS less than Android 4.4 Kitkat OS (Android M support would come later). It is now easier to integrate popular third-party storage offerings like Box, Google Drive, OneDrive for Business, Dropbox and OneDrive; and navigate commands within the apps.
To expand the Microsoft has collaborated with over 30 OEMs to pre-load Microsoft apps and services on Android devices (smartphone and PCs). The Redmond giant is very serious about bringing its core apps to other mobile OS platforms which includes – Android and iOS.
