This week at its Surface launch event in New York city, Microsoft announced two new dual-screen devices – the Surface Neo and Surface Duo, which are expected to arrive in the 2020 Holiday season (US). Both foldable devices offer the flexibility and productive benefits of switching between a larger and using two small screens for different tasks at the same time.

Weighing in at 655 grams, the Microsoft Surface Neo is an Intel-powered foldable tablet with two 9-inch LCD touch screens and a 360° hinge which helps them fold-out into a bigger 13.1-inch display. It measures 5.6mm thick, supports multiple mode usage and is compatible with the Surface Pen and Bluetooth mouse as well as attachment to accessories such as the removable magnetic keyboard.
The Surface Neo will come preloaded with Windows 10X – a version of Windows 10 which has been designed and tailored for dual-screen devices. ASUS, Dell, HP and Lenovo have been earmarked by Microsoft to launch foldable devices sometime in 2020 with dual screen and Windows 10X.
The Microsoft Surface Duo combines the best of Android OS, Microsoft and the Surface brand to reimagine productivity on the go. Like Samsung’s Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X, it has two screens (5.6-inch each) connected by a 360° hinge, which helps it unfold into a larger 8.3-inch display.
