Despite the recent news of the ‘extraordinary slow’ sales of Windows Phones, manufacturers such as Cathay Tri-Tech still has faith in the platform. The company has just announced a new device running Windows 10 Mobile OS called the Cathay Tri-Tech XC01Q but pricing is unknown yet.
The phablet sized device comes with low-midrange specs and is expected to debut in the Japanese market in coming days (late April 2016). Available colour options are Navy Blue and White with Gold. Considered to be part of the “Arp” product brand, it has a single Micro SIM slot (unlocked), sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with HD screen resolution and a pixel density if 267ppi.
Under the hood, the Cathay Tri-Tech XC01Q is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. Powered by a 2600mah Battery, the device supports 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE Cat.4) networks as well as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n (2.4GHz) and GPS connectivity options.
For photography, there is a rear facing 13-megapixels camera with LED flash and a front facing 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats.
