China Telecom has officially announced the ASUS Pegasus (ASUS Pegasus X003A or ASUS X003A) which is likely expected to succeed the ASUS Pegasus X002 which went official last year for $130. The taiwanese company coined its name from the mythical winged horse – Pegasus (Peg’ASUS’) which is associated with Knowledge and Wisdom.
The ASUS Pegasus takes its design off the Zenfone series of the company and was certified on TENAA earlier this month. It sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS LCD display and is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Handling tasks on the device is 2GB of RAM and there is 16GB space of internal storage for files.
The device measures 146 x 72 x 8.5mm in dimensions, weighs 153 grams, comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion, a front facing 5MP camera and a rear facing 8MP camera with CMOS sensor. Asides supporting standard connectivity options – Bluetooth, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB and NFC, the device also supports LTE connectivity (LTE Cat. 4) which theoretically has a download speed up to 150Mbps.
The Asus Pegasus is Dual SIM enabled, it runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with the company’s UI ontop and is backed by a 2500mAh battery. While the pricing of the device is unknown, it would be available in Black and White colour options.
