Midrange Vivo V1 and V1 Max smartphones announced in India

Chinese manufacturer, Vivo has announced the Vivo V1 and Vivo V1 Max smartphones in the company’s new V Series of devices. Both smartphones would be priced between INR 15,000 ($236) and INR 20,000 ($314).

Vivo only revealed the specs info of the V1 while that of the V1 Max is kept under wraps. However, mere looking at the promoted image suggests the Vivo V1 Max could have a bigger display, maybe higher resolution and a bigger battery. The rest of the specs are expected to be identical.

The Vivo V1 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS touchscreen display, supports Dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with the company’s proprietary  FunTouch UI ontop. The device is backed by a 2300mAh battery. 

Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core qualcomm snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.

Handling photography on the smartphone is a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with wide-angle 6P lens and f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options on the Vivo V1 includes – 4G LTE, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, micro USB and Wi-Fi.

While there is no word on the specs of the Vivo V1 Max, the company confirmed both smartphones would launch together and start selling in the stores later this month.
