Chinese device manufacturer, Mlais has announced a new smartphone – the Mlais M52 Red Note. The affordable midrange smartphone is expected to launch on March 29th for a price equivalent to around $150 – $170 in White, Blue, Orange and Black colour options.
The Mlais M52 Red Note is powered by an octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor which uses eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores at 1.5Ghz alongside a dual-core Mali-T760 MP2 GPU clocked at 700MHz with 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage and a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display.
The device supports Dual SIM functionality which also sees it support 4G LTE on both SIMs. To handle photography, the device combines a 13MP main camera on the back and a 8MP front facing camera for selfies. Connectivity options on the device includes – USB OTG, GPS & GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, 2.45GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi; while sensor options includes – Light Sensor, Accelerometer, gyroscope and Proximity Sensor.
The Mlais M52 Red Note runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and is powered by a 3200mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery.
Overall the specs are very okay for those people in the market for a phablet sized device with a faster processor and of course who doesn’t Android Lollipop is the latest in town. One major hitch point is the fact that the device might not be available in other markets except China.
