Some days ago, new broke out that Microsoft is currently working on two flagship smartphones and two midrange smartphones. While their name were only speculated to be – Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL for the flagship ones and Lumia 740 XL and Lumia 840 for the midrange ones.
According to this new report, the two flagship Microsoft smartphone would infact be called the Microsoft Lumia 940 and Microsoft Lumia 940 XL. The main difference between both smartphone would like be in terms of screen size – 5.2-inches on the Lumia 940 and 5.7-inch on the Lumia 940 XL.

Both smartphones would be powered by either an octa-core or an Hexa-core processor, with the company very much in partnership with Qualcomm we don’t expect to see another SoC maker under the hood. The main camera will be be upped to either 24MP or 25MP which will trounce the 20MP on their predecessor – the Lumia 930. The front camera is tipped to be a 5MP camera for Selfies and the likes.
Both smartphones would run Windows 10 OS out-of-the-box and is expected to come with features such as Native Pen support, Iris Scanner and 3D interaction.
There is no official word on when both smartphones would be announced but the company would likely announce them after the Windows 10 OS for smartphones has seen a global rollout.
