Lenovo’s mobile subsidiary, Motorola has unveiled a new moto mod – the Moto Smart Speaker With Amazon Alexa – for the Moto Z series smartphones. The new moto mod will go on sale starting in November for a retail price of $149.99 in only markets where the Amazon Alexa is available.
The Moto Smart Speaker brings the best features and benefits of Amazon’s Alexa to mobile. Alexa responds to questions and helps with various random tasks such as playing or controlling music, telling the weather, managing calendar or to-do list, getting directions and much more.
Sporting a new compact dock design, the moto mod comes equipped with four powerful microphones, two 27mm diameter speakers with stereo sound and a 1,530mAh built-in battery that promises up to 15 hours of battery life. It is also splashproof and connects to a variety of smart devices.
Like all existing moto mods from Motorola, the Moto Smart Speaker snaps into place right behind any device in the Moto Z family. It also resembles the JBL SoundBoost 2 moto mods speaker sans Alexa suppport.
