Motorola has teamed up with Bullitt Group to launch a new rugged Android smartphone called the Motorola Defy. It is fitted with a unique dual-sealed housing, which contributes to its IP68-rating (waterproof) and can survive up to 35 minutes under water (up to 1.5m deep). It is also drop proof (up to 1.8m) and certified to military standards (MIL SPEC 810H), meaning it can withstand extreme conditions such as vibrations, extreme temperature, and tumble tests.
The Motorola Defy has a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD Max Vision display, which can be operated with wet hands and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD. The rest of the specs is closely similar to the Moto G9.
Photography is handled by a triple-rear setup with 48MP (f/1.8) main + 2MP depth + 2MP macro sensors and 8MP selfie camera. Power is delivered by a 5,000mAh battery with 20W TurboPower fast charging via USB Type-C. The rest of the specs include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Android 10 OS (upgrade to Android 11 available). The Defy is available for GBP 279/EUR 329 in Europe and Latin America markets in Black and Forest Green colours. Each device come with a detachable lanyard wrist strap.
