Motorola was listed as one of the companies to use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G mobile platform in the nearest future. The company has delivered on that promise with the announcement of the Motorola edge s for the Chinese market. It is also the first mobile device to use the mobile platform.
The Motorola edge s has a 6.7-inch (2520 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio and HDR10 support; 6/8GB LPPDDR5 RAM, 128/256GB (UFS 3.1) storage, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and depends on a 5000mAh battery with 20W Turbo fast charging via USB Type-C port. The front top-left notch holds the dual front cameras – 16MP main + 8MP ultra-wide.
Photography is handled by a quad-rear setup which includes a 64MP (f/1.7, PDAF) primary, 16MP (121°, PDAF) ultra-wide angle, 2MP (2.8cm) macro and Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors. The rest of the specs include Wi-Fi 6, microSD card slot (supports up to 1TB card), Bluetooth 5, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and IP52-rating (Splash resistant). Pricing starts at CNY 1,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model; CNY 2,399 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and CNY 2,799 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. It is already open for pre-orders in Emerald Blue and White colours.
