Motorola Unveil Moto G100 and Moto G50

Motorola has unveiled two new Moto G series smartphones – the Moto G100 and Moto G50. Both smartphones offer 5G connectivity than to the Qualcomm processors on-board and 90Hz refresh rate on their respective displays. They both come pre-loaded with near-stock versions of Android 11 and depend on long-lasting 5,000mAh batteries.

Motorola Moto G100

Priced starting at EUR 500/GBP 450, the Moto G100 appears to be the international version of the China-released Motorola edge S. It is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 mobile platform paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB (UFS 3.1) expandable storage. The model is built around a 6.7-inch FHD+ IPS display with 90Hz refresh rate and HDR10 certification, aluminium + glass body with IP52-rating and depends on a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging.

Photography is handled by a quad-rear camera setup with 64MP main shooter paired with 16MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth and 3D TOF sensors. The dual cameras in the front punch-hole notch combines a 16MP main and an 8MP ultra-wide cameras. The phone also packs a USB-C port, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, headphone jack, hybrid dual SIM slots, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.1. It is compatible with Motorola’s Ready For platform when connected to external displays via USB-C to USB-C or USB-C to HDMI as well as the Ready For Dock and Bluetooth accessories.

Motorola Moto G50

The Moto G50 is cheaper than the G100 and dons a plastic body to go along with its EUR 250 starting price tag. It has a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display with 90Hz refresh rate and depend on the same 5,000mAh battery but this time with 15W fast charging support. It packs 48MP + 5MP + 2MP triple rear camera, 16MP selfie camera, USB-C port, NFC, headphone jack, and rear fingerprint sensor. The G50 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 mobile platform paired with up to 6GB LPDDRX4X RAM and up to 128GB built-in storage.
