Motorola New Moto X, New Moto G and Moto 360 Smartwatch Announced

Motorola has announced the second generation of its Moto G and Moto X – the New Moto X, the New Moto G and the Moto 360 Smartwatch at a company event in Delhi.

Motorola Moto X (2nd Generation)
The Moto X (Gen 2) or the New Moto X is the successor of the Moto X smartphone. The device features a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixel) OLED display with a pixel density of 423 ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device is powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974-AC) processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB internal storage. And no microSD card slot. The device sports a 13MP rear camera with a f/2.25 lens with 4K video recording and dual-LED ring flash, as well a 2MP front-facing camera capable of 1080p video recording.

Moto X (Gen 2) or (New Moto X)

Like the New Moto G, the new Moto X features dual-front speakers, above and below the display. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 80211.ac, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Micro-USB, and 3.5mm audio jack.

The New Moto X measures 140.8 x 72.4 x 9.97mm, weighs 144 grams, runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS and poweredby a 2300mAh battery. The device has been priced in the US for $499.99 off contract and costs $99.99 on a 2-year contract across select carriers.

Motorola Moto G (2nd Generation)
The Moto G (Gen 2) features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) display, 294ppi Pixel density, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8226) processor coupled with Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB/16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot.

Moto G (Gen 2) or (New Moto G)

The second-generation Moto G features a 8MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash. The camera can capture slow motion video and features 4xDigital Zoom, tap to focus, panorama mode and burst mode. The device also has a 2MP front-facing camera. The device also sports a speaker above and below the display.

The Dual-SIM New Moto G measures 141.5 x 70.7 x 10.99mm, weighs 149, and runs on the Android 4.4 Kitkat OS. Connectivity options on the device includes Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Micro USB, GPS, GLONASS, 3.5mm Audio Jack, 3G and Wi-Fi 80211.ac. A 2070mAh battery powers the device.

The device is available in Black and White colour options; and canbe customised with different Motorola colour shells. The device cost $180, making it one of the best priced in the market.

Moto 360 Smartwatch
The long awaited Moto 360 smartwatch has been announced with a rounded display and runs on Android Wear OS. The device features a 1.56-inch (320 x 290 pixels) Back-lit LCD display with a pixel density of 205ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartwatch has a diameter of 46mm, a thickness of 11.5mm and weighs 49grams with the leather strap.

Motorola’s Moto 360 smartwatch

The device is powered by a TI OMAP 3 processor (unspecified chipset), 512MB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt storage, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Optical heart rate monitor (PPG).

The Moto 360 smartwatch is powered by a 320mAh battery, supports wireless charging and comes with a charging dock. The device is compatible with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and higher. The device is IP67 certified (water resistant) and has single physical button, dual microphones and vibration motor.

The Moto 360 smartwatch has been listed to be available on Best Buy stores, Bestbuy.com, Motorola.com and Google Play (US) for $249.99 .

Extra: The company also took the wraps off some new accessories with the devices – the Motorola Power Pack Micro and Moto Hint.

The Microsoft Power Pack Micro is a keychain friendly portable battery and also let’s users search for their keys or smartphone using the motorola Keylink feature. The Power pack micro measures 41 x 17 x 60mm, weighs 48.1grams, comes with a battery capacity of 1500mAh. Available in Dark Canvas, Light Canvas, Spice, Red, Violet, Lemon Lime, Turquoise, Royal Blue colour options for $39.99.

Motorola Power Pack Micro

The Micro Hint is a small bluetooth enabled earbud compatible with Bluetooth enabled smartphones; lets users, get directions, make quick search and send messages. The device cones with a charging case and is tipped to provide 10 hours of talktime and 100 hours of standby time.

The Moto Hint would be available in the US for $149.99 by falls before being rolled out to other regions.
