Lenovo’s Motorola has announced the launch of its new sub-$500 5G smartphone – the Motorola One 5G in the US. It is basically the region’s version of the Motorola Moto G 5G Plus launched in European markets. It is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G mobile platform which features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X52 Modem-RF System for ultra-fast 5G connectivity and comes pre-loaded with the near-stock version of Android 10 with Motorola’s My UX for customised Moto experiences.
For photography, the Motorola One 5G is equipped with a quad camera system which comprises of a 48MP (f/1.7, 1.6µm) primary sensor with Quad Pixel technology and Night Vision paired with 8MP (f/2.2, 118O,1.12µm) ultra-wide angle, 5MP (f/2.2, 1.12µm) macro and 2MP (f/2.0) depth sensors. The whole setup has a Macro Vision ring flash for the right lighting in different conditions. On the front notch, here is a dual camera setup with 16MP (f/2.0, 1.0µm) and 8MP (f/2.2, 1.12µm) ultra-wide-angle sensors.
The smartphone is built around a 6.7-inch CinemaVision FHD+ display with 90Hz screen refresh rate, 21:9 aspect ratio, HDR10 support and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It offers up to 4GB of RAM, 128GB built-in storage, microSD card slot (up to 1TB via microSD), 3.5mm headphone jack, side-placed fingerprint scanner, and a 5,000mAh battery with 15W TurboPower fast charging.
In the US, the Motorola One 5G will be available via AT&T (sub-6 5G) and Verizon (mmWave 5G) for a sub-$500 price tag. The Moto G 5G Plus released in Europe starting July is available from EUR 349 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage) and EUR 399 (6GB RAM + 128GB storage).
