Motorola Razr 5G Debuts with Snapdragon 765 SoC

As a follow-up to last year’s Razr smartphone, Motorola has announced the launch of another Razr-branded flip smartphone with 5G (sub-6GHz) connectivity. The Motorola Razr 5G, as it is known, will be available starting in China and select European markets as well as Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Middle East (Fall 2020). In the US, it is available unlocked for US$ 1,399 (~$50 less than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 5G) at Amazon.com, Best Buy and Motorola.com as well as AT&T and T-Mobile (Fall 2020).

Available in Blush Gold, Graphite and Liquid Mercury colours, the Motorola Razr 5G (or Motorola Razr 2020) retains the same ‘water repellent’ design as the previous generation but the specs now differ. The main display is a 6.2-inch OLED display panel with 876 x 2142 pixels resolution while the outer display is a 2.7-inch OLED panel with 800 x 600 pixels. The latter’s display has been refined to offer more functionality including gesture navigation.

Motorola confirms that the hinge is now more durable and designed to withstand 200,000 flips over a period of five years. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with Android 10 with My UX and depends on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB built-in storage (non-expandable). The rest of the specs includes 48MP (f/1.7, 1.6μm, OIS) main camera with Quad Pixel technology, 20MP (f/2.2, 1.6μm) selfie camera, rear fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and 2,800mAh battery with 15W TurboPower fast charging.
