MSI has launched a new gaming focused laptop but comes in a more compact body and lighter – the MSI GS40 Phantom or (MSI GS40 6QE Phantom). At the moment, there is no word on how much it would cost but as expected it doesn’t come cheap.
Running either Windows 10 Home or Windows 10 Pro OS, the MSI GS40 Phantom sports a 14.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, an all aluminium body build with many LED lights to complement. It measures around 19.5 – 22.8mm thin, weighs 1.5kg and has a keyboard by steelseries with a single red colour backlighting.
The laptop is powered by a 6th gen Intel Core i7 Skylake processor (the Intel Core i7-7800HQ to be precise) paired with NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970M graphics; for storage there are – two SODIMM slots up to 32GB of DDR4-2133 memory, a 2.5 inch drive bay and M.2 PCI Express slot.
For quality audio experience, there is an Exclusive ESS SABRE HiFi DAC onboard for lossless and high-quality audio; Nahimic Sound Technology delivering 360⁰ immersive audio Experience and Sound by Dynaudio system.
Connectivity options on the MSI GS40 Phantom includes – Bluetooth 4.1, 2 x USB 3.0 port, 1 x USB 3.1 Type C, microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Gigabit Ethernet. The Laptop supports Killer DoubleShot Pro networking a feature which has been coming with recent high-end MSI gaming laptops and connects up to three external displays at once with USB Type-C ports, HDMI and Mini DisplayPort.
