Russian telecom giant, Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has announced a new budget LTE smartphone called the MTS Smart Race 4G. The 4.5-inch smartphone is developed and manufactured under the MTS brand by Hong Kong based GINZZU Technology.
Running the dated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box, the MTS Smart Race 4G sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD display with (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA screen resolution, Dual SIM slots (the SIMs are locked to the network) and is backed by a rather moderate a 1800mAh Lithium Polymer battery.
On the inside, it is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6735M quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz along with 1GB RAM and 8GB built-in expandable storage space. For photography, there is a front facing 2 megapixels camera for video calls and selfies, while the main camera is a 5 megapixels snapper with AutoFocus and LED flash.
The MTS Smart Race 4G supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE (Cat.4) networks as well as Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n (2.4GHz). The device is available in either Black or White colour options in the home country for a price tag of RUB 3,990 (US$ 61).
