Vivo has quietly listed the music centric midrange Vivo Y37 up on its global website. The device will be officially available starting August 18th for CNY 1998 ($312, €281).
The Vivo Y37 is partly aimed at the audiophiles and those who love phones with solid audio performance. It features 2 pro-level 5 magnetic-circuit speakers compared to 2-magnetic-circuit speakers used on most phones, to pick up even minimal sounds.
With a pro-level Hi-Fi chip onboard, it is able to a SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) of 105Db (DeciBels) with ultra-low distortion. Measuring 154 x 77 x 6.9mm in dimensions, the Y37 features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection.
It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB expandable internal storage. On the rear, the Vivo Y37 has a 13MP AutoFocus camera and the front camera is a 5MP snapper.
The camera has features such as Palm Capture, Smart Beauty Mode, Children Mode, PPT Mode and Bokeh Mode which offers professional SLR-standard technology. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi Direct, micro USB 2.0, GPS (A – GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, Beidou) and 4G LTE. Available Sensor options includes: Accelerometer, Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Electronic compass and Virtual gyroscope.
The Vivo Y37 runs Funtouch OS 2.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, supports Dual SIM (Micro + Nano) functionality with 4G in the first SIM and backed by a 2720mAh Lithium-ion polymer battery with Energy Saver 2.0 technology for extended battery life.
