LG opted to use the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona, Spain to announce the LG V30S ThinQ, an upgraded model of the over 6-month old LG V30. The new model integrates a new AI-based solution for enhancing image capturing experience (Vision AI) and voice commands (Voice AI).
Working alongside Google Assistant, the V30S ThinQ’s Voice AI feature allows the users to run various apps and change settings through voice commands. For making photography intuitive, the smartphone’s Vision AI comes in the form of three new camera features: AI CAM, QLens and Bright Mode.
The AI CAM analyses subjects in frames and recommends the optimal shooting mode, while QLens uses the AI’s image recognition tech to scan QR codes thus improving online shopping experience. Bright Mode uses algorithms to improve low light photography.
Arriving in New Moroccan Blue and New Platinum Gray colour options, the MIL-STD 810G –certified flagship packs 6GB of RAM (2GB RAM more than the V30) along with either 128GB (V30S ThinQ) or 256GB (V30S+ ThinQ) built-in storage space options. The rest of the specs and design remains the same as the original LG V30.
