When you look back at 2014, you’ll just to mention that’s the year wearable took full swing. With all major companies and lesser ones throwing their different Wearable (Smartwatch, Smartband, Fitness Band, e.t.c) into the fold, there is too much luxury of opinion to choose.
Though smartwatches gained more traction but most of them still looks more like ‘accessories for Geeks’ instead of the normal everyday watch. The Moto 360 Smartwatch is an exception because it seemed more like the regular analogue wristwatch but there have been complaints of the screen being to big but it still has this geeky tag too.
French Brand, Nevo is offering a modern day Analogue wristwatch with integrated LED indicators, Activity & fitness tracking and phone notifications. The Nevo Watch as it is called looks like any Wristwatch from afar but it actually has some fitness packing technology features.
Nevo is joint venture agreement between leading French design brand for wearable, iMaze and creative brand of consumer electronics lifestyle products.
The Nevo Watch packs 316L stainless steel plate, measures 12.5mm in thickness, has a Sapphire glass crystal and is said to be able 3 ATM water and resistant. Unlike most smartwatch which uses a heart rate monitor, it still manages to measure distance traveled, counts the wearer’s steps, sleep quality, calories burned and swimming strokes.
The Nevo Watch is compatible with any smartwatch running iOS 7 (and above) and Android 4.3 (and above) and connects to these devices via a low energy Bluetooth 4.0. It also comes with an activity tracking app which allows it connect to Google Fit and Apple Health Kit; the app also sync data to the phone and Cloud.
The watch uses traditional watch batteries which means they are replaceable when the batteries wear out. But you won’t be in a rush to replace the battery as it uses two batteries – one powers the watch’s swiss movement for 5 years and the other a standard Cr2025 battery which powers the smart features but lasts around 6 months or more.
Rather than a physical dial, the Nevo Watch uses eleven embedded bright white LEDS around the watch to display notification. The smartwatch would not display notifications like other smartwatches would; but it would instead vibrates to let a user know there is a call or text notification.
The Nevo Watch has already crossed its set target on crowd funding platform, Indiegogo; it is open to pre-orders before the commercial release. The smartwatch is available for $199.99 (Could cost more in different regions.
