The CES 2016 has come and gone, the MWC 2016 happening in a couple of weeks time, is the next major event of the year. Taiwanese company, ASUS is expected to join in the action at the event by possibly announcing mobile devices – smartphones and tablets as well as other portable devices.
A new 8-inch tablet from the company, dubbed the ASUS P008 has been spotted on GFXBench benchmark website listing. It is expected to slot into the the ZenPad series as the ASUS ZenPad 2 8.0 but there is no official confirmation yet.
The ASUS P008 sports a 7.9-inch touchscreen display with screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and a pixel density of 324 ppi. It relies on an hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor clocked at 1.8GHz with Adreno 510 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space (out-of-which 9GB is available to the user).
In the camera segment, the tablet has a front facing 2-megapixels camera and rear facing 8-megapixels AutoFocus camera with HDR and LED flash. The listing does not have the battery capacity but the Wi-Fi only tablet boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box.
The ASUS P008 is expected to make its way to the MWC 2016 as the ZenPad 2 8.0 but this is the Wi-Fi only model. The company could also have a LTE model in store.
