Asus has launched a new Asus Zenfone Max with Snapdragon 615 processor in India. The phablet sized device keeps the core of the specs from its predecessor but the processor has changed from the previous quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and internal storage has doubled.
Moving to the specifications, the New Asus Zenfone Max sports a 5.5-inch 720p HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and is backed by the same 5000mAh Li-Polymer battery (non-removable) which should last up to 914 hours on standby and charge other mobile devices via USB OTG.
The device packs either 2GB or 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion (up to 64GB). In the camera section, there is a rear 13MP camera with Laser AutoFocus, Real Tone Flash and f/2.0 aperture while the front selfie camera is a 5MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
The new Asus Zenfone Max has Dual SIM slots and supports 4G LTE networks as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The 2GB model sells for Rs 9,999 (US$ 148) while the 3GB model sells for Rs 12,999 (US$ 193); however, both models will be available from Flipkart, Asus Stores and select retail outlets. The older version is also still on sale for Rs 8,999 (US$ 133).
