Along with the new nexus phones – the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Google announced Nexus Protect – a protection program to cover the two Nexus Phones in-cases of breaks.
Nexus protect offers two years of coverage for mechanical breakdown and two years of protection from accidental damage. The program is exclusive to Nexus phones bought directly through the Google Store.
In terms of pricing, the Nexus 5X goes for $69 while the Nexus 6P goes for a bit higher price at $89 and Google charges a $79 deductible fee for either device for each replacement due to accidental damage, if a claim is filed and only two claims can be filed per plan.
In comparison, the AppleCare+ much more as for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus at $129 but this also includes a $99 fee deductible for accidental damage incidents.
