Chinese Rugged smartphone maker, No.1 has released the No.1 M2 – its third device in just three months. The device is said to be targeted at those who want a rugged smartphone that is very compact.
In terms of its ruggedity, the No.1 M2 smartphone is scratch proof thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass protection; it is also shock proof, pressure proof, high temperature proof, Freeze proof and water proof (IP68 certified). The company also released two youtube videos to proof the phone’s rugged nature – the first shows the device being dropped into water and the other shows the device being dropped from top of the stairs. Both videos can be found at the foot of the post.
Moving to the specs, the No.1 M2 is powered by a quad-core processor (from MediaTek) which clocks at 1.3Ghz with 1GB of RAM, 8GB space of internal storage. There should be a microSD card slot onboard also and the display is a 4.5-inch one with a (960 x 540 pixels) qHD display resolution.
The device uses 13MP/5MP camera combination on the rear and on the front. The rear camera has LED flash, enhanced face detection and exposure controls. No.1 is banking on the M2 as the first rugged smartphone to run Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It measures 144 x 76 x 14.5mm, the weight is unknown (expect it not to be too lightweight) and is backed by a 2400mAh battery which is not removable.
The No.1 M2 would be available on AliExpress for $93.99 by April and is expected to ship free around the world in Black, Orange and Green colour options.
